Data privacy statement

Thank you for visiting us online. We take the protection of your personal details very seriously. We would like to inform you about the data privacy policy in place at our company. We do, of course, comply with the legal provisions of the German Data Protection Act (BDSG), the German Telemedia Act (TMG), and all other statutory provisions governing data protection.

You can trust us with your personal details! Digital security systems are used to encrypt and transfer them to us. Technical features protect our website against damage, destruction or unauthorized access.

Object of data protection

Personal details are the object of data protection. Pursuant to Section 3 (1) BDSG, these are individual details about the personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person. These include, for example, information such as name, postal address, e-mail address or telephone number, but may also include utilization data, such as your IP address.

Scope of data collection and storage

Generally, you do not have to disclose any personal details to use our website. We may, however, need your personal details to enable us to actually provide our services. This applies both when sending information material or ordered merchandise, and when answering individual queries.

If you commission us to provide a service or ship merchandise, we will always only collect and store your personal details to the extent necessary to allow us to perform the service or execute the contract. This may mean that we have to pass your personal details on to a company that we have commissioned to provide the service or perform the contract. Such a company might, for example, be a shipping company or company that provides other services. We would like to collect and store your personal details in case we perform one of the following, or any similar actions:

  • Newsletter dispatch
  • Participation in a competition with the chance to win a prize
  • Credit rating or age checks to enable the provision of our services or in respect of payment methods
  • Personalization of our website
  • Other services.

If you have indicated your e-mail address to subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your e-mail address above and beyond the performance of the contract for our own advertising purposes until such time as you unsubscribe.

You can, of course, disable cookies when visiting our website. If you do not want us to recognize your computer, you can prevent cookies from being stored on your hard drive by ticking "Don't allow cookies" in your browser settings. Please consult the instructions of your browser provider to see how to do this in detail. Disabling cookies may, however, impair the functionality of our website offerings.

You can prevent the installation of cookies by amending the settings of your internet program (browser). To do this, you need to disable the storage of cookies in your internet browser. You can find more information on how to do this in the instructions for use issued by your internet browser.

Collection and storage of utilization data

We collect and store certain data to enable us to optimize our website. These include, e.g., the date and time of your visit to our site, the site you left when navigating to our site, etc. This data is anonymized, i.e., the user cannot be personally identified. User profiles using a pseudonym may sometimes be created. Here, again, the natural person behind the pseudonym is not linked to the utilization data that is collated. We also use cookies to collect and store utilization data. These are small text files that are stored on your computer and used to save statistical information, such as operating system, browser, IP address, referral URL, and the time. We only collect this data for statistical purposes to further optimize our website and make our internet offerings more attractive. The data is collected and stored solely in anonymized or pseudonymized form, and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about you as a natural person.

Use of data solely for intended purposes

We observe the principle of using data for the intended purpose, and only collect, process and store your personal details for the purposes for which you disclosed the information to us. We will not make your personal details available to third parties without your express consent, unless this is necessary to enable provision of a service or performance of a contract. Equally, your personal information will only be provided to state institutions or authorities who are entitled to receive it within the framework of legal obligations to provide information, or if a court rules that we must provide it.

We also take data privacy very seriously within our company. We have obligated our staff and the service companies we use to secrecy and to compliance with data privacy regulations.

Right of information and revocation

You are entitled to receive information about your personal details in our system without indicating any reasons, at any time, and free of charge. You are entitled to demand that your personal details in our system be blocked, corrected or deleted at any time. Equally, you may revoke your consent to the collection and utilization of your personal details at any time and without indicating any reasons. Please use the contact address listed in the "Company details" section for this purpose. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further queries relating to our data privacy and to the use of your personal details.
